These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Back2Life Project website (“the Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. ELIGIBILITY

The Site is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. By using the Site, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. USER RESPONSIBILITY

You are solely responsible for:

  • Your conduct on the Site

  • Any content you post or share

  • Your interactions and communications with other users

Back2Life Project does not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or safety of user‑submitted content or user behavior.

3. LIMITED VERIFICATION PRACTICES

Back2Life Project may, in limited circumstances, verify incarceration or custody status using publicly available Department of Adult Correction records for the purpose of confirming participation eligibility.

This verification does not constitute a criminal background check and is not an evaluation of an individual’s criminal history, character, behavior, or risk.

Back2Life Project does not conduct comprehensive background checks and makes no representations regarding the conduct or safety of any participant.

4. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Back2Life Project, including its directors, volunteers, staff, and affiliates, shall not be liable for any damages, claims, losses, disputes, or injuries arising from:

  • Interactions with other users

  • Misrepresentations or misconduct by users

  • Offline meetings or communications

  • Any actions taken by users on or off the Site

Use of the Site is entirely at your own risk.

5. PROHIBITED CONDUCT

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or harm others

  • Post false, misleading, or deceptive information

  • Impersonate another individual or organization

  • Share private or sensitive information about others

  • Use the Site for illegal, abusive, or harmful purposes

  • Attempt to interfere with Site security or functionality

Violations may result in removal of content or restriction of access.

6. CONTENT OWNERSHIP

You retain ownership of any content you submit. By posting content on the Site, you grant Back2Life Project a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to display and use the content for Site and program‑related purposes.

Back2Life Project reserves the right to remove content that violates these Terms or poses a safety concern.

7. USER SAFETY & COMMUNITY STANDARDS

Back2Life Project’s programs are intended to promote safe, respectful communication and meaningful connection. Users are responsible for exercising personal judgment and discretion when engaging with others.

Back2Life Project is not responsible for the actions or behavior of users, whether online or offline.

8. THIRD‑PARTY LINKS

The Site may include links to third‑party websites or tools. Back2Life Project is not responsible for their content, practices, or policies.

9. TERMINATION OF ACCESS

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Site if these Terms are violated or if user behavior raises safety concerns.

10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict‑of‑law principles.

11. CHANGES TO TERMS

Back2Life Project may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
